Goats are a great choice for the homestead. They are easier to handle than larger livestock, and provide an incredible array of products including meat, fiber, milk, hides, and much more. During this workshop we will talk about selecting the right goat for your needs, keeping your goats healthy, supplies to have on hand, economics of raising goats, tips for successful kidding, and what your goats need to be happy and productive. A cashmere goat from the farm will be along to help us learn about trimming hooves, body condition, fiber and what to look for in a goat. Dwayne will share stories of his family’s 8 years of adventures raising these useful animals.
