Are you looking for land for your homestead or farm dream? This workshop will guide you through the process. You’ll hear about one grower’s experience of finding the right land as well as:

• how to use the Manitoba Agriculture soil maps to determine soil types and qualities

• gaining knowledge of the land with soil and water tests

• assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the neighbourhood and surrounding lands

• a discussion of the implications of relationships and history of one’s potential community

• a discussion of finances, business plans, and lenders

• a discussion of the rightful place for emotions in the decision making process

• a welcoming space for participants to bring their own prospects and dreams
